10 Commercial Truck, Van OEMs earn nominations based on Price Digests Data

Price Digests is excited to announce the finalists for our prestigious Highest Retained Value Awards (HRVA) for 2022. It’s been about 15 months since we handed out the last awards at World of Concrete in June 2021, and lots has changed since then.  Commercial Truck values spiked, then started to level off. New models hit the market, and while the brunt of the pandemic supply chain issues seem to have been resolved, there are still lingering issues.

This is the 4th year for the Price Digests HRVA awards, and again, we present them in nine categories honoring 2022 model year Class 3-8 commercial trucks, ranging from light to heavy-duty models. The finalists represent the model series in each category projected to retain the highest percentage of their original value during the next five years.

Kurt Wilson, Price Digests Manager of Data Analytics, says he looks at the most popular commercial trucks and vans on the road. “This year, the models may have changed a bit based on the ability of OEMs to overcome supply chain challenges. The OEMs needed to produce enough trucks to get to the top in sales. Then we study the data that we have in Price Digests’ Truck Blue Book and use proprietary algorithms to identify truck models that are expected to retain the most value over the next five years. It’s an unbiased approach. It’s all about the data and our calculations.”
